About Park City

To shape a new model of sustainable urban life in Zimbabwe.

01 — What Is Park City

A complete urban ecosystem

Park City is an approximately 930-hectare, nature-led, master-planned mixed-use urban development located northwest of central Harare, Zimbabwe.

Planned as a complete urban ecosystem, it brings together housing, commerce, industry, learning, research, health, culture and recreation through a connected framework of landscape, public space, mobility and infrastructure.

Master planner Lead8 captures the spatial idea behind this system as “A Township in the Park.”

02 — Why Now

The Time to Plan Ahead

Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 sets a long-term national development horizon encompassing economic growth, infrastructure and social development.

Within this broader context, Park City is being planned for the long term. The plan brings housing, enterprise, learning, health, landscape and infrastructure into one coordinated framework designed to respond to changing needs over time.

03 — Why Here

A Strategic Place for the Future

Park City lies northwest of central Harare, near Zimbabwe’s New Parliament Building at Mount Hampden. The scale of the site, together with its proximity to air and rail corridors, offers potential for business, regional trade and wider international links.

For Park City, this is a moment to plan beyond immediate needs. Its urban framework is intended to remain adaptable as Zimbabwe’s communities, economy and expectations evolve.

05 — Our Principles

Four principles guide Park City’s planning and development

These principles guide how Park City is planned, built and stewarded: as a connected city, shaped by nature, grounded in Zimbabwe and considered across generations.

Nature Shapes the CityArtist’s Impression

Nature Shapes the City

Nature is treated as part of the city’s infrastructure. A citywide green spine and connected landscape network work with the natural character of the land, bringing parks, trails, water and open space into everyday urban life.
